17th Annual Tournament
Tournament Rules
Official rules for the East West Challenge between Nantucket Anglers Club (NAC) and Maddaquet Admiralty Association (MAA).
Eligibility & Teams
Teams consist of two anglers. Non-member teams must be the guest of a member of either NAC or MAA.
Each team must declare which club they are fishing for at sign-up. Once declared, the declaration may not be changed.
Juniors may fish individually and will compete in the junior division.
Tournament Hours & Boundaries
Sign-up: Friday, July 31st from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Nantucket Anglers Club, with light hors d'oeuvres.
Wet lines: Friday, July 31st at 8:00 PM through Saturday, August 1st at 5:00 PM.
Weigh-in window: Saturday, August 1st from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Maddaquet Admiralty Association.
Cookout: Saturday, August 1st at 6:00 PM at Maddaquet Admiralty Association.
Catch-Photograph-Release & Measuring
This is a catch-photograph-release tournament. Fish should be photographed and released in good condition unless they are a Calcutta fish being brought to weigh-in.
Each catch must be documented with a clear photo showing the fish and a recognizable measuring device or board.
Calcutta & Prizes
Team entry fee is $100, with $25 for non-anglers and $15 for junior anglers.
Non-angler and junior entry fees include awards and festivities.
Calcutta entry is $25 per category, with two categories: Black Sea Bass and Fluke.
First Prize: $500 Cash.
Second Prize: $400 gift card to CRU Restaurant.
Third Prize: $300 gift card to Brotherhood Restaurant.
Door Prize: $250 gift card to Proprietors or Black Eyed Susan's.
Children receive prizes from Nantucket Tackle Shop.
The $25 Squares Draw prize is a rod by Fish Stix.
T-shirts are $40, hats are $20, and a T-shirt & hat combo is $50.
Sportsmanship & Disputes
All anglers are expected to follow safe, ethical, and legal fishing practices.
The tournament committee reserves the right to disqualify any team or angler for unsafe behavior, rule violations, or unsportsmanlike conduct.
Species, Scoring & Weigh-In
Points are awarded per inch for the following species. Only one fish of each species per team will be counted.
Example: a 20 in Fluke = 1,200 points.
- Calcutta fish (Fluke & Black Sea Bass) must be brought to the MAA for an official weigh-in during the weigh-in window.
